A Central Plains RCMP office arrested a suspicious person and found illicit drugs in his possession.
According to the Central Plains RCMP Weekly Report, just before midnight on September 28, a Portage la Prairie officer was patrolling and noticed someone walking around the outside of a residence with a flashlight on Oak Bay.
The officer stopped and detained the suspect, who then fled into the residence. The officer gave chase and was able to arrest 41-year-old James Borden.
Borden had nearly 15 grams of suspected Fentanyl, as well as over 170 grams of suspected methamphetamines.
Borden is charged with Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Tracking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Less than $5,000.00 and Resisting Arrest.
He was remanded and appeared in court on October 1.
