Portage firefighters battle semi-truck fire Saturday morning

Portage la Prairie firefighters put out a large blaze Saturday morning. 

At 9:20 a.m., emergency crews responded to reports of heavy smoke coming from a semi-truck on fire just east of the city

On arrival, the cab area of the semi was fully engulfed, extending into the engine compartment. The truck was reportedly unoccupied. The firefighters extinguished the fire, and the scene was cleared.
