As the temperature starts to decrease, the Portage Community Revitalization Corporation (PCRC) is pushing for a little more last-minute cleanup.
Fall Beautification Days in Portage la Prairie has been extended, allowing for Portagers to help tidy up the city with free supplies until October 19. Community engagement coordinator Rachelle Sissons says they hope to see Portagers continue to take care of the city, which will help the city's score throughout Community's in Bloom judging.
"The PCRC has supplies for you including gloves and garbage bags," explains Sissons. "Take before and after photos and there is a prize for the photos that are submitted."
While this rendition of the Fall Beautification Days has been fairly well received, Sissons looks to a demographic that she'd like to see get out in the community.
"With the start of school on September 9, it was really hard for schools to get involved. We're really hoping to see more student involvement."
Those interested in partaking in Fall Beautification Days can contact the PCRC at 204-240-7272 to inquire about supplies.
