The Regina Thunder have booked their ticket to the playoffs with the help of some Moose Jaw product.

This past Sunday the Regina Thunder locked up the second seed in the Prairie Football Conference (PFC) conference with a 40 - 21 victory over the Calgary Colts. Linebacker Devin Baumann (51) and practice squad slot receiver Carter Connolly (2) will be along for the ride as they prepare to host the Calgary Colts again in the PFC Semi-Final.

The Regina Thunder finished with a record of 6 - 2 on the year, as their only two losses came against the provincial rival, Saskatoon Hilltops. Connolly has been waiting for his opportunity on the practice roster.

"A lot of hard practices, sometimes they were tough, and then bounce back to the next one. Learned a lot about coming together as a team," said Carter Connolly.

Through eight games, Baumann had one tackle, and an assisted tackle. He also came in second for special teams tackles for the Thunder with seven on the year and seven assisted special team tackles. The Central Collegiate Cyclone product also recovered two fumbles, with one going back for a touchdown, and two blocked kicks.

"It's been a good year so far but I'm looking forward to the playoffs and doing good things there," said Baumann.

Regina will host the Calgary Colts at Leibel Field again this Sunday at 1 PM in a rematch for the PFC Semi-Final. The Conference-leading Saskatoon Hilltops play the Edmonton Huskies on the other side of the bracket. The two winners of both matchups will play each other in the PFC Final.
