With Thanksgiving coming up on Monday, October 14, what's open and closed in Winnipeg?

Grocery stores:

  • Walmart will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Superstore will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 
  • Safeway and Sobeys stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Most locations)
  • Save-on Foods will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Co-op grocery stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Costco will be closed. 

Retailers:

  • Home Depot will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Rona will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. 
  • IKEA will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

City services:

  • All civic offices will be closed Monday, October 14, 2024. 

Garbage and recycling:

  • The garbage, recycling, and yard waste services will run as scheduled for people who have Monday as their collection day. To figure out what your collection day is, visit the city's webpage, download the Recyclepedia app, or call 311 or email 311@winnipeg.ca.

Libraries:

  • All Winnipeg Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, October 14. 

Shopping centres:

  • On Monday, the Kildonan Place, St. Vital Centre, Polo Park, Outlet Collection Winnipeg, and Garden City Shopping Centre will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Grant Park Shopping Centre will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Monday.

Recreation and Leisure:

  • Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex will be open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Margaret Grant Pool will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Pan Am Pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Winnipeg Transit:

  • Bus services will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday. 

Animal Services:

  • The Animal Services Agency will be closed on Monday.

Golf Courses:

  • Crescent Drive, Kildonan Park, and Windsor Park golf courses will remain open throughout the long weekend, weather permitting.
