A forage harvester sustained substantial damage after a fire Tuesday afternoon.
Carman Dufferin Fire Department (CDFD) responded to the call at 2:58 p.m., and due to the location and potential to spread into the corn field the equipment was working in, St. Claude Fire Department was also requested to assist.
Crews arrived and extinguished the fire before it was able to spread beyond the immediate area around the harvester.
The department was called out again around 6:33 p.m. last night for a hydro lines related call.
It’s been a busy start to the month for the CDFD, which responded to four calls on Saturday alone.
They were for commercial fire alarms at a business in Carman where no issues were found, downed power lines, mutual aid for a structure fire in Miami and another power lines incident.
