The Provincial A-AA-AAA High School Soccer championships begin today in Minnedosa. The Zone 4 champion Morden Thunder will meet Dauphin in the girls quarterfinals. The Miller Aces and Garden Valley Zodiacs earned wildcard spots. The Aces will take on Minnedosa/Erickson and the Zodiacs will face Neepawa. The Zone 4 champion Garden Valley Zodiacs will meet R.D. Parker of Thompson in the boys quarterfinals. The Morden Thunder earned a wildcard berth and will take on Dauphin.
Jack Rigaux scored the go-ahead goal with 1:26 left to lift the Mountain Mustangs past Portage Collegiate 3-2 at Stride Place in the lone Zone 4 High School Hockey League game Thursday night. Griffin Desrochers had the other two Mustangs goals. Colby Kochen had both goals for the Trojans.
