With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Alana Lillian Colette Lowey. Born at RUH hospital in Saskatoon on September 2nd 2005. Alana passed away September 25th 2024 after being struck by a car.
Alana always lived life on her own terms. She was kind, generous, loving and the life of any party. She tried so hard to fit in and always tried to make others feel safe and loved. Her smile was contagious and she enjoyed each day to the fullest. She would never miss an opportunity to go on an adventure. She loved helping everyone and especially loved teaching dance to younger kids, she had a huge love for animals and helped me to find furever homes for about 300 cats and dogs. Alana danced every chance she got she never cared what anyone thought about it she literally danced like no one was watching. She loved swimming, skating, acting, singing, hiking, biking, canoeing, horseback riding, paintball, painting, wall climbing, track and field, dance, teaching dance, yoga, sewing, quilting, cooking and spending time with friends, family and especially her big brother.
Alana leaves behind her great grandparents Angus and Devona Juckes, grand parents Diane and Stan Deptuck, Victor and Anita Lowey, Larry and Wendy Elliott, Kim and Kelvin Olson, mother Stephanie Lowey, brother Devon Lowey, father Christopher Elliott, Patrick Standish and Matt Olson as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and extended family members.
Celebration of life will be held Saturday October 19th at Hillcrest church. Arrival time starts at 10:30am, service starts at 11:00am and will be followed by a small social gathering with drinks and snacks. If you are sure you are attending please let us know so we have enough for everyone.
We request that you dress casual or in your favourite comfy clothes. Alana loved leggings, sweat pants, hoodies, oodies, and most of all pyjamas. She never cared what anyone thought about her style as long as she was warm and comfy and we want everyone in attendance to feel the same. So be unapologetically you for her this one last time. I can hear her happy excited giggles now.
We will be filling a memory scrapbook at the service so we are asking you to print and bring one picture you have of Alana that you can add to the book. Pens will be available for you to write a message, memory, or sketch. I would love if you were in the picture with her but it can also just be a picture you like. Alana also heartbreakingly leaves behind the greatest boyfriend who gave her the best last three months of her life. Thank you Aiden Vella and family for loving and accepting our amazing girl.
