A temporary lane closure on Main Street South, north of Ridgegate Way, will begin today and last until next month.

According to the City of Airdrie, the closures will last until Wednesday, November 6, to accommodate construction activities for the Airdrie Multi-Use Facility and Library.

Other important road disruptions to remember 

  • Motorists travelling on Highway 566 west of Balzac should expect delays as fibre optic utility work occurs between Range Road 11 and Range Road 13.

The construction will continue daily until October 17, with work hours running from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Also, until the end of this month, drivers using Highway 567 westbound near the QEII should prepare for ongoing construction and delays.

Steel girder repair work is underway and expected to continue 24 hours a day until November 1. The construction began on September 17 and affects the on and off ramps from the QEII due to lane closures on westbound Highway 567.

Motorists can expect a speed reduction, no-passing zones, flag persons directing traffic, and an on-site detour. Drivers are advised to be prepared to stop and obey all posted signage to ensure safety throughout the area.
