Team Semeniuk, a newly formed curling team from North Battleford, has made an impressive debut on the U18 CurlSask Junior Tour by going undefeated in their first spiel. Competing at the U18 Sask Cup in Martensville, the team finished with a perfect 5-0 record, securing the tournament win.

Skip Chloe Semeniuk from North Battleford, alongside her teammates—third Grace Louden from Sceptre, second Kelsey Wall from Saskatoon, and lead Lindsay Miller from Martensville—showcased their skills throughout the competition. Coached by Don Miller, the team dominated their matches, including a 9-2 win over Team Hardcastle with a strong 4-point lead in the first end, and a nail-biting 6-5 victory over Team Simpson in an extra end. Their semi-final performance against Team Laventure saw them win 7-1, taking an early lead with 5 points in the second end.

In the finals, Team Semeniuk faced off against Team Todd in a close game, securing an 8-7 victory to claim the first U18 Sask Cup.

The team will continue their journey on the CurlSask Junior Tour, returning to the ice next weekend at the Saskatoon Junior Classic. This series of U18 Fours Spiels is designed to support young curlers, providing a platform for them to hone their skills and prepare for the U18 Provincials.

Team Semeniuk’s success is a promising start for the new squad, and their future in the competition looks bright.
