Coming off a win over Everett and a loss to Saskatoon on the weekend, the Moose Jaw Warriors host the Spokane Chiefs tonight. Tonight will see 16-year-old local product Carson Deichert make his WHL debut. Deichert, a 3rd round draft pick in 2023, has 4 goals and 11 points in 6 games this season with the Winmar AAA Warriors.

On Sunday, the Winmar AAA Warriors lost 4-2 to the visiting Prince Albert Mintos.  

4A 9-A-Side football on Friday saw Moose Jaw's Vanier Vikings beat Gull Lake 62-28. and Lumsden beat Shaunavon 53-27.

The Central Cyclones wrapped up their regular season with a 22-11 win over Yorkton in 12-a-side 5-A football action. Central finished with a 4 and 2 record. Playoffs are up next.

2022 Central grad and starting center for the Vancouver Island Raiders, Jake Giokas, is back home after an award-winning football season.

The Raiders were winless in 2023 but went 4 and 6 this season.

"We're a very young team, so it had a bit of growing pains, but we definitely found our groove at the end, going 3 and 0 to close out the season. Other than that, it was a great experience," said Giokas. 

Giokas won the Raiders award for Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman this season.

CFL on Saturday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders beat the BC Lions 39-8, and yesterday it was the Alouettes over the Redblacks 19-12. 

NHL yesterday, it was the Ottawa Senators over the Los Angeles Kings 8-7 in overtime and the Montreal Canadiens fell to the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-3. 

Major League Baseball playoffs, the Mets beat the Dodgers 7-3, tying that series at a win apiece. The Yankees beat Cleveland 5-2 in game one of the ALCS.
