Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Moose Jaw campus is holding an open house today, Oct. 16, giving people an opportunity to learn more about what they have to offer.

High school students are welcome in the campus gym for the open house from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., with an open house for the public running from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

“That doesn’t mean that someone couldn’t come at 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. as well, or that students couldn’t come at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.,” clarified Scott Hellings, student recruitment advisor with the campus.

Hellings said the Moose Jaw event will feature many of the Moose Jaw-based programs available. “You’ll see everything from agriculture and food production to civil engineering and architectural technologies.”

While pre-registration is recommended, it is not required.

Those who attend one of the open house events with Saskatchewan Polytechnic in person have the chance to submit an application to a program for free.

“Normally there’s an $80 application fee, but if you attend in person, you can get a code to waive your application fee, explained Hellings.

“You can even apply on the spot for the program of your choice. We will have some computers available for people to apply to, but if they want to bring their own device, that would also be great.”

For those who can’t make the event in Moose Jaw today, there will be an open house at their Regina campus on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for high school students, and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the public, focusing on the programs that the Regina campus offers.

You can find more information or pre-register for either one of the open houses here.
