Break & Enter / Assault / Assault by Choking / Failure to Comply with Undertaking
On October 14th at 11:04PM police received a call of a man choking a woman at Cornell Bay. The 42-year-old male was an ex of the 38-year-old female. The victim did not require medical assistance. Suspect was located by police in the area, arrested, and held in detention cells for court in the morning on October 15th, 2024.
Aggravated Assault
On September 26th, 2024, at approximately 10:07PM Brandon Police responded to a serious assault that took place at the Brandon Correctional Centre located at 375 Veterans Way. The victim, a 44-year-old male who was being held in custody, was seriously injured, unconscious and transported to the hospital. He was then air lifted to Winnipeg’s Health Science Centre that night.
Police reviewed the video surveillance and identified three accused suspects who attacked the victim - 34-year-old male, and two 26-year-old males.
As of October 15th, the victim remains in serious condition at the Health Science Centre.
On October 9th, 2024, the three suspects were arrested for Aggravated Assault at Brandon Correctional Centre and appeared in court for a hearing on October 10th, 2024.
All three have been charged with Aggravated Assault and remain in custody.
Arrest Warrant
On October 14th at 8:46AM police located a 28-year-old male in the back lane of the 300 block of 13th Street. The male had a Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Undertaking. He was arrested and transported to BPS for documents and prints. He was later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of December 23, 2024.
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose / Failure to Comply with Probation Order X2
On October 15th at 11:20AM police saw a 32-year-old male exciting a location he was not to attend from a prior probation. The male had a 5-inch throwing knife on his person as well. He was sober and arrested, held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on October 15th, 2024.
Sexual Interference
As a result of an investigation, it was determined that between September 24th and October 13th, 2024, a 29-year-old male, had engaged in sexual activity with a minor. On October 14th at 11:35AM police located and arrested the male. He was later released on an Undertaking with a court date of December 3rd, 2024.
Mischief to Property Under $5000
On October 14th at 11:31AM Brandon Police received a report of a disturbance in Cornell Bay. A 42-year-old known to them male, who does not live at the residence, had damaged property and smashed items. He was located by police and arrested. He was found to be sober and released on an Undertaking with a court date of November 7th, 2024.
Arrest Warrant
On October 14th at 1:49PM police attended a 22-year-old male’s residence in relation to a Theft Over $5000 charge that occurred on August 8th, 2024. The male suspect also had an unendorsed Warrant of Arrest for Failure to Attend Court. He was arrested on the warrant and interviewed for the theft. He was held in detention cells with court in the morning on October 15th, 2024.
Theft Under $5000
On October 14th at 4:34PM a call of a retail theft in Corral Centre came in. Video and description provided allowed police to locate the 41-year-old male suspect in the area. Approximately $70 in merchandise had been stolen. He was arrested and later released on an Undertaking with a court date of December 2nd, 2024.
Failure to Comply – Undertaking
On October 14th at 10:05AM police received a call of a 31-year-old female breaching a court order of no contact with her ex. In the past 24 hours she had contacted him numerous times. The accused was charged and later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of November 7th, 2024.
