Pallet fire extinguished by Winkler Fire Department

Shortly after 8pm Thursday night, Winkler Fire Department responded to an outdoor fire at a property on Cargill Road.

Chief Richard Paetzold says firefighters found a pile of pallets on fire when they arrived. Crews prevented the flames from spreading, and then extinguished the blaze.

There was minimal damage other than to the pallets, and some other materials involved in the fire

He says yesterday's gusty south winds spread embers from a burn container used earlier in the day to the pallet pile causing them to ignite.

There were no injuries in the incident.
