A Portage la Prairie RCMP officer issued three significant tickets after catching a driver excessively speeding.

On October 11,  just after 11:00 p.m., the officer activated their radar and clocked a vehicle travelling 184 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on the bypass around Portage la Prairie. The officer conducted a traffic stop and asked the driver to undergo a Mandatory Alcohol Screening test, which he failed.

The 25-year-old Ebb and Flow First Nation man received an Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibition.

He lost his license for 90 days, and his vehicle was towed and impounded for a minimum of 30 days.

He also received a Serious Offence Notice requiring him to explain his excessive speed to MPI and the three tickets totalling $2,058.00.
