A woman from Brandon got more than she paid for after refusing to leave a rideshare service.
According to a Central Plains RCMP Weekly Report, on October 12 at 4:23 p.m., Portage la Prairie RCMP received multiple dropped 911 calls from somewhere on 20th Street SW. When they arrived, the vehicle was located in the middle of a parking lot.
The driver was a distance away from the vehicle and told the RCMP that a woman had a weapon and refused to leave. After the RCMP spoke to the woman, she tried to unlock the doors and escape before being apprehended. She still refused to listen to the officers while being detained.
Lillian McKinnon, 20, was remanded into custody and appeared in court on October 15, where she was released on court-ordered conditions and will appear again at a later date.
