A 42-year-old man from Pilot Mound is facing charges after the vehicle he was driving was pulled over by officers with the Winkler Police Service (WPS) around 5:30 Friday afternoon.

According to a WPS news release, an officer made the stop on Highway 23 near Myrtle in relation to an investigation of a man believed to be trafficking cocaine into the Winkler/Morden area. The driver was arrested.

With some help from members of the Morden Police Service, officers found $2,475 in cash and 441 grams of cocaine worth an estimated $44,100.

Police say the man will be charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime.

He was released on an undertaking with several conditions. He’s set to appear in court in December.
