It's been an exciting season for the Dinsmore volleyball teams, with notable successes across both the junior and senior levels. Here's a recap of the action so far this year:
Junior Girls Volleyball Coaches Lance Morrison and Lori Beattie have led the Junior Girls to a strong season. On October 19, Dinsmore hosted the Sectionals, welcoming teams from Beechy, Lucky Lake, and Elrose.
Round Robin Standings:
- Dinsmore: 3-0
- Lucky Lake: 2-1
- Beechy: 1-2
- Elrose: 0-3
In the semi-final, Beechy defeated Lucky Lake in a close match, winning 14-25, 25-21, 15-13. The final saw a thrilling contest between Dinsmore and Beechy, with Dinsmore emerging victorious after three sets: 25-11, 17-25, 16-14.
The Junior Girls will now travel to Outlook on Saturday, October 26, to compete in the West Central District Championships.
Junior Boys Volleyball Coaches Chelsea Billett and Dawn Thomson took the Junior Boys team to Beechy on October 19 for their Sectional tournament. After a competitive round robin, the team found themselves in a three-way tie for first place.
In the semi-final, Dinsmore faced off against Elrose but unfortunately fell short. Elrose advanced to the final, where they defeated Beechy to claim the title.
Senior Girls Volleyball The Senior Girls team, a co-op with Elrose and Kyle, attended an 8-team tournament in Outlook over the past weekend. Coached by Lisa Calwell, they finished in 4th place after several hard-fought matches.
Next up, the Senior Girls will head to Leader on November 2 for Conference playoffs, where they hope to continue their strong season.
Senior Boys Volleyball Coaches Dakota de Caux and Erin Green led the Senior Boys team to an impressive showing at the Eston tournament on October 19. The team made it to the finals, where they took the host team to three sets, narrowly losing 16-14 in an intense third set.
The Senior Boys will have a chance to redeem themselves as they host Conferences on November 9 in Dinsmore.
