The Prairie South School Division #210 held its Candidates Forum last night at the A.E. Peacock auditorium ahead of the Wednesday, November 13, 2024, School Board election.
The candidates in the running for seats in Subdivisions 1 and 6 included Darcy Pryor, Jan Pogorzelec, Brett Hagan, Kursty Bansley, Lew Young, Mary Jukes, Abdul Alabi, Tenielle McLeod, Patrick Boyle, and Rob Gorham. Brian Martynook was unable to attend the forum.
The candidates in attendance each delivered their opening statements, answered the two pre-submitted questions and wrapped up with a closing address.
There were two multi-part questions submitted to the candidates:

What are the biggest challenges in education and how will you address them?

What are your top three budget priorities for the school division?
Where can I cast my ballot for Subdivision No. 1?
Advance polls for Subdivision No. 1 (Central Butte, Chaplin, Craik, Eyebrow and Mortlach) open on October 30, 2024, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Eyebrow School.
The regular poll locations for Subdivision No. 1 are as follows:
Poll #1 Central Butte, Seniors Centre, 276 Main Street
Poll #2 Chaplin, Town Hall, 413 4th Street
Poll #3 Craik, RM Office, 222 Grid 643
Poll #4 Eyebrow, Eyebrow School, 130 Vista Avenue
Poll #5 Mortlach, Memorial Hall, 102 Rose Street
Poll #6 Riverhurst, Village Square Teacher's Lounge, 324 Peck Street
Poll #7 Tuxford, Tuxford Community Hall, 26 McCreary Street.
All poll locations will be open on November 13, 2024, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Where can I vote for Subdivision No. 6?
Advance poll locations for Subdivision No. 6 voters take place at the Golden Nugget Centre in Moose Jaw, open from noon until 6 p.m. October 29 and 30, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. November 2, and noon until 6 p.m. November 4, 5, and 7.
Regular poll locations for Subdivision No. 6 are as follows:
Poll #1 Golden Nugget Centre - for voters north of Thatcher Drive and east of 11th Avenue NW
Poll #2 Cosmo Senior Citizens' Centre - for voters on the northeast side of Moose Jaw
Poll #3 Minto United Church - for voters on north side of Moose Jaw not in #1 or #2 above
Poll #4 Church of Our Lady - for voters on South Hill
All poll locations are open Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
