Today, it was announced that Airdronian Jake Neighbours signed a contract extension with the St. Louis Blues.
Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong made the announcement saying it is a two-year contract extension worth an annual average value of $3.75 million.
During his first four seasons with the Blues, Neighbours, a former captain and Western Hockey League (WHL) champion with the Edmonton Oil Kings, has amassed 53 points (36 goals, 17 assists) and 51 penalty minutes in 135 regular-season games.
Before representing Canada and winning a gold medal at the 2023 World Championships, Neighbours scored 10 points (six goals, four assists) in 43 regular-season games during his debut season in 2022–2023.
"Last season, he shared second on the team with a career-high 27 goals while he also shared the lead in power-play goals (8), shared third in game-winning goals (4), and ranked fourth in hits (138). Thus far in 2024-25 he has tallied three points (two goals, one assist) and four penalty minutes in six appearances," stated the Blues in a press release.
Back in 2015-16, Neighbours spent some time playing for the Airdrie Xtreme. He had 22 goals and 18 assists in 35 games played.
