Samaritan House Announces Leadership Transition: Heather Symbalisty to Step into Role of Executive Director on December 16, 2024

Samaritan House is pleased to announce that Heather Symbalisty will assume the role of Executive Director, effective December 16, 2024. This leadership transition follows the upcoming retirement of long-serving Samaritan House supporter and leader Barbara McNish. This transition is part of Samaritan House's strategic commitment to continuing its mission of providing dignity, compassion, and respect to those most in need in our community.
Heather Symbalisty, currently serving as Executive Assistant, has been an integral part of Samaritan House, demonstrating exceptional leadership, vision, and dedication. She brings a wealth of experience, including her previous role as an executive director, as well as extensive knowledge in human resource management and accounting. Her compassion and understanding in working with those in need will be invaluable to the organization as a whole.

During her tenure, Barbara McNish has been instrumental in advancing Samaritan House’s mission to support those facing homelessness, hunger, and hardship in the Brandon community. Under her leadership, the organization has expanded its programs, offering critical resources such as shelter, food distribution, skill development, and counseling services. Her compassionate leadership and tireless advocacy for those in need have left an indelible mark on the lives of countless individuals and families.

The leadership transition is part of Samaritan House’s strategic plan to ensure a seamless and continuation of its mission and operations.
