The City of Winkler’s online forums have been filled with questions as to when the community’s newest fast-food restaurant will be opening its doors.
As of October 22nd, at 10:30am, the restaurant’s doors officially opened to the public, and people can finally get their hands on a Baconator, chili, or the classic chocolate frosty they’ve been craving.
Owning a Franchise
Frank Peters, the franchise owner and a lifelong Winkler resident, shared his thoughts at the ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday. “[We’re] really excited, and a bit nervous... We want to do a good job and want to make sure that we serve our customers as good as we can.”
Harpreet Brar, the restaurant’s general manager echoed Peters’ excitement as he prepared for the launch. “This is the first time I am opening a brand new store... Rumors are that we will be crazy busy... but we all are prepared for that and excited.”
Ready to Go
Both Peters and Brar anticipate a busy atmosphere as the community embraces the new restaurant.
“We’ve done quite a bit of training, but we think it’s going to be really busy, so we don’t want to disappoint our customers.” Peters remarked.

When asked why he chose Wendy’s, Peters shared that, “Every time I went to Winnipeg, I would try to stop in and pick up a Baconator and I just really enjoyed the burgers. Thought it was a great quality burger, and I haven’t been disappointed being involved in the franchise.”
Peters and Brar shared that they are ready to welcome their customers, with the hopes that the new eatery promises to be a favourite of many for years to come.
