RCMP are asking for the public's assistance in a case of what they are calling a deliberate act of vandalism.
On October 22, Spruce Plains RCMP received a report of a fiber optic line having been cut in a ground vault at the intersection of 1st Street NW and 3rd Avenue NW in Minnedosa.
This caused a disruption in service that affected internet, phone and television services to approximately 90 homes and businesses in Minnedosa for an extended period of time. A second fiber optic line located in a ground vault near this intersection was also reported to have been damaged.
The disruption in service occurred around 7 p.m. on October 21 and RCMP are asking anyone who may have seen anyone at this intersection, for a lengthy period of time, to contact the Minnedosa RCMP at 204-867-2916. Anonymous tips can also be made through Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by visiting www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.
