Do you have leaves and grass clippings to dispose of before winter sets in?
It’s Free Yard Waste Weekend this Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3 at the Moose Jaw landfill, with the City of Moose Jaw waiving the $10 residential tipping fee for organic waste.
Aside from leaves and grass, residents can also offload branches no more than one inch in diameter. The City asks that waste be transported inside transparent garbage bags (either orange, blue, or clear).
While people can bring their organic yard waste in trailers towed behind light vehicles, the fee waiver does not extend to dual axle and commercial trucks, or to non-organic household waste.
Loads are required to be securely tarped per City bylaw.
The City of Moose Jaw also returns to a bi-weekly pickup schedule for waste as of Friday, Nov. 1, 2024. Find the schedule here.
