George Herman Haeusler
September 14, 1929 – October 23, 2024
George Herman Haeusler was born September 14, 1929, to Martin and Josephine (née Strueby) Haeusler. He attended Blume School for nine years and worked on his dad’s farm. On August 21st, 1951, he married Evelyn Bernhard. They lived on the Bernhard farm until 1954 when they moved to Humboldt, Saskatchewan, where he was employed with the C.N. Railroad as a fireman. In 1958 they bought a house and moved to Moseley, SK. George operated the Road Patrol for the R.M. of Humboldt for about 35 years. He also owned land and farmed it with his brother-in-law Quirin Strueby. George attended church in Marysburg, SK. He enjoyed watching the Marysburg Royals ball games and enjoyed curling and liked meeting and talking to people. In 1990 George and Evelyn bought a house in Humboldt, SK. In 2015 they moved into a condo where he lived until his passing. George will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by wife of 73 years, Evelyn, six children, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren: Pam (Cliff) Frank of Humboldt, SK and their family: Jason (Sherry), children Ashley and Caitlyn of Humboldt, SK, Jeff (Cristi) of Humboldt, SK, Tyler of Humboldt, SK, Amber of Humboldt, SK; Shelley (Roland) Ayotte of Battleford, SK; Janet (Myron) Becker of Kansas City, MO, USA and their family: Chad (Kara), son Ryan of Kansas City, MO, USA, Kimberley (Jason) Nagel, children Miles and Willow of Kansas City, MO; Neil (Joanne) Haeusler of Winnipeg, MB and their family: Craig (Lena) Elias, daughter Maya of Lulea, Sweden, Kyle of Winnipeg, MB, Brianne (Colburne) Poapst, children Lyra and Casian, of Winnipeg, MB; Wendy Theil of Calgary, AB, and her family: Desirae (Vuay) Viswanathan, children Sachin and Bodhi of Calgary, AB, Logan (Julianne), children Lynden, Giovani and Pierson of Okatoks, AB, Delani (special friend Jake Honig) of Calgary, AB; Riley (Bailey), daughter Emberly of Humboldt, SK; Calvin (Patricia) Haeusler of Saskatoon, SK; his brothers: Marcellus of Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake, SK, and Wilfred (Della) of Muenster, SK.; and his sisters: Viola Lauchbaum of Richmond, B.C.; and Rosella (Melvin) Korte Hamil of Creighton, SK.; George was predeceased by: his parents Martin and Josephine Haeusler, brothers: Alphonse, Bernard, Clarence and Edward; sister Lidvina Cox; and half-brother Richard Prokosch. The Funeral Mass was held at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, SK, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Colin Roy. Others taking part were: Kyle Haeusler, cross bearer; Chad Becker and Kimberley Nagel, scripture readers; Amber Frank, Delani Theil, Caitlyn Frank, intentions; Riley Theil, Jason Frank, Jeff Frank, and Tyler Frank, gift bearers; Verna Bay and Connie Puetz, memorial table attendants; Neil Haeusler, eulogist; and. Ashley Frank, urn bearer. Music ministry was provided by members of the Marysburg Choir and St. Augustine Funeral Choir, directed by Rita Frank, with John Brinkmeier as guitarist and Carol Esler, pianist. Interment was at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery Columbarium, Humboldt, SK. The memorial luncheon followed at St. Augustine Parish Hall.
