The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will host the CFL’s West Division final. Sergio Castillo kicked a walk-off 51-yard field goal to lift Winnipeg past the Montreal Alouettes 28-27. Zach Collaros threw for 331 yards and completed a nine-yard touchdown pass to Nic Demski as the Bombers clinched first place in the division with an 11-7 record. The B.C. Lions will meet the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Regina next Saturday in the division semifinal.


Jayce Legaarden scored twice and Max Lavoie had three assists in the Winkler Flyers 7-4 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders in Swan River. Connor Jensen, Mathys Blanchette, Blake Matheson, Will Brophy and Nichols Mckee also scored for the defending Turnbull Cup champions who trailed 3-0 and 4-3 at the period breaks.


Carson Hiebert scored the go-ahead goal with 2:36 left in regulation to lift the Pembina Valley Hawks past the Thistles 3-2 in Kenora. Tegan Fehr and Cohen Pilkington also scored for the Hawks. Pembina Valley netminder Karsen Dyck made 32 saves.


The Pembina Valley Hawks gave up four second period goals and lost 7-3 to the defending Manitoba Female U18 AAA Hockey League champion Winnipeg Ice. Leah Klaassen, Jessica Anderson and Sophia Cox did the goal scoring for the Hawks.


Simon Hiebert had a five-point night in the Northlands Parkway Nighthawks 5-2 victory over the Garden Valley Zodiacs in the lone Zone 4 High School Hockey League game. Hiebert scored four times and drew an assist on Riley Peters’ second period goal. Rhett Peters scored twice for the Zodiacs. Bryce Neufeld had the other GVC goal.


The Warren Mercs and Springfield Winterhawks were winners in the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League on Saturday night. Riley Vautour scored twice in the third period as the Mercs defeated Winkler 5-3. Justin Augert had a pair of goals for the visiting Royals. Jason Frykas and Carter Barley had two goals each as the Winterhawks downed Notre Dame 6-2 in Oakbank. Connor Hamonic and Tyler Van Deynze replied for the Hawks.


Luke Shipley scored the tying goal with 55 seconds left in regulation and Marcus Nguyen potted the winner 2:32 into overtime to lift the Brandon Wheat Kings past the Calgary Hitmen 4-3 at Westoba Place. Nolan Flamand and Joby Baumuller also scored for the Wheat Kings.


The Winnipeg Jets are still perfect. Cole Perfetti scored the go-ahead goal on the power play with 3:44 remaining and Winnipeg defeated the Calgary Flames 5-3. Nikolaj Ehlers, Kyle Connor, Dylan Samberg and Mason Appleton into an empty net also scored for the Jets who are 8-0 and will host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday. Winnipeg scored twice with the man advantage and once shorthanded. Eric Comrie made 26 saves. The Jets are the ninth team in NHL history to record at least eight wins to begin a season.


The Manitoba Moose lost their home opener Saturday afternoon. The Rockford IceHogs rallied from a 2-0 deficit with five unanswered goals and beat Manitoba 5-3 at Canada Life Centre. C.J. Suess, Mason Shaw and Nikita Chibrikov did the goal scoring for the Moose.
