The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will host the CFL’s West Division final. Sergio Castillo kicked a walk-off 51-yard field goal to lift Winnipeg past the Montreal Alouettes 28-27. Zach Collaros threw for 331 yards and completed a nine-yard touchdown pass to Nic Demski as the Bombers clinched first place in the division with an 11-7 record. The B.C. Lions will meet the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Regina next Saturday in the division semifinal.


Christian Green made 33 saves in the Steinbach Pistons 3-2 victory over the Virden Oil Capitals at Tundra Oil & Gas Place. Brody Green, Ryan McDonald and Connor Paronuzzi with his eighth of the season did the goal scoring for the Pistons. Niverville downed the Neepawa Titans 4-1. Adam Vigfusson had a goal and an assist for the Nighthawks.


The Mitchell Mustangs, Ste. Anne Aces and Niverville Clippers were winners in the HTJHL on Saturday night. Mark Plett and Colton Wiebe each had a goal and three assists as the Mustangs defeated the East St. Paul Gators 7-3. Coen Wright-Makara and Jesse Gratton had two goals each as the Aces beat the Red River Mudbugs 6-4. Tyler Blanchette made 26 saves in recording the shutout as the Clippers blanked the Grunthal Red Wings 3-0.


The St. Malo Warriors scored two goals in each period and beat the Falcons 6-4 in Lundar. Jeremie Collette had a pair of goals for the defending Capital Region Junior Hockey League champions while singles went to Ashton Cure, Teagan Fillion, Ashton Dubois and Sam Freynet.


Isabelle Labossiere made 14 saves in the Eastman Selects 3-0 victory over the Interlake Lightning in Stonewall. Cheyenne Scott Cooke, Sophia Heidinger and Mya Grenier did the goal scoring for the Selects.


The Springfield Winterhawks and Warren Mercs were winners in the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League. Jason Frykas and Carter Barley had two goals each as the Winterhawks downed Notre Dame 6-2 in Oakbank. Connor Hamonic and Tyler Van Deynze replied for the Hawks. Riley Vautour scored twice in the third period as the Mercs defeated Winkler 5-3. Justin Augert had a pair of goals for the visiting Royals.


Luke Shipley scored the tying goal with 55 seconds left in regulation and Marcus Nguyen potted the winner 2:32 into overtime to lift the Brandon Wheat Kings past the Calgary Hitmen 4-3 at Westoba Place. Nolan Flamand and Joby Baumuller also scored for the Wheat Kings.


The Winnipeg Jets are still perfect. Cole Perfetti scored the go-ahead goal on the power play with 3:44 remaining and Winnipeg defeated the Calgary Flames 5-3. Nikolaj Ehlers, Kyle Connor, Dylan Samberg and Mason Appleton into an empty net also scored for the Jets who are 8-0 and will host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday. Winnipeg scored twice with the manadvantage and once shorthanded. Eric Comrie made 26 saves. The Jets are the ninth team in NHL history to record at least eight wins to begin a season.


The Manitoba Moose lost their home opener Saturday afternoon. The Rockford IceHogs rallied from a 2-0 deficit with five unanswered goals and beat Manitoba 5-3 at Canada Life Centre. C.J. Suess, Mason Shaw and Nikita Chibrikov did the goal scoring for the Moose.
