There are a whopping 24 people vying for six seats on Moose Jaw City Council this November.
Residents will have a chance to learn more about them with a Public Forum being held by the Moose Jaw Kinsmen on Monday, Nov. 4 starting at 7 p.m. in the Centennial Auditorium at Peacock Collegiate.
“All candidates have been invited to attend, and given some guidance as to what kind of things will be happening for them, should they decide to participate in the forum,” said Lyle Johnson, the forum’s moderator.
“The Chamber of Commerce is, of course, hosting a setup for the mayoral candidates, but we thought it’s very important that the councillor candidates get the chance to be spoken to as well,” he added.
Candidates need to register their intent to participate with the Moose Jaw Kinsmen by Friday, Nov. 1.
During the forum, candidates will get a 3-minute introduction to explain their reasons for running, followed by a question-and-answer session.
Johnson said he expects the forum to take around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on the number of candidates who sign up to participate.
If you’re unable to attend to watch in person, the forum will be streamed online on Discover Moose Jaw.

The Municipal Election is happening on Nov. 13.
