It was a busy weekend of hockey for Weyburn teams. Here is a look at how some of the teams did. 

U18 AA 

The U18 AA John Hulbert Construction Wings were at home on the weekend for a pair of games against the Sask East Oilers. The first game was Saturday afternoon, and the Oilers would come out on top in a close contest, winning 3-1.  

The lone goal for the Wings came from Clay Chinski, who scored on the power play with 9:55 to play in the middle frame. His goal was asissted by Blaise Jorgensen and Connor McIndoe. 

Sunday afternoon, the two teams met again at Crescent Point Place. The Oilers would come out on top in that one as well, winning 2-1. Weyburn’s lone goal was scored by Evan Duke with 3:17 to go in the second period, assisted by Rylan Ohnander and Rob Shumlich. 

The next game for the U18 AA Wings is November 3rd when they host the Regina Vics.

The U18 AA Apex Gold Wings were at home at the Harry O Memorial Arena in Midale Saturday night, taking on the visiting Saskatoon Comet Legends. The Gold Wings would give up the first goal of the game but then rallied to skate to a 2-1 victory.  

Charlotte Kosior scored on the power play with 1:40 left in the first period, assisted by Alex Reid, and Hadley Gerle netted the game-winner, with assists to Ella Schenher and Reid, at the 11:31 mark.  

The U18 AA Gold Wings will be back on the ice on November 3rd when the Warman Wildcats are in town.  

U15 AA 

The U15 AA Whitecap Resources Gold Wings at home at Crescent Point Place Sunday afternoon, taking on the Prince Albert Foxes. The Gold Wings would come out firing, skating to a 3-2 victory. Bree Poelen, Chelsea Madsen, and Lexi Bauman scored for the Gold Wings in the win, while Baya Summers backstopped them to the victory.  

The U15 AA squad will now get set for a northern road trip this coming weekend, with games in Kindersley Friday night, Battleford Saturday afternoon, and Saskatoon Sunday afternoon.
