KINDERSLEY, SK — Kindersley Town Council gathered for their regular meeting on Monday, October 28, 2024, addressing community concerns, reviewing financial reports, and approving municipal documentation.
Crosswalk and Snow Removal Concerns
Council welcomed Darcy Klarenbach as a recognized delegation to discuss crosswalk safety at 6th Avenue and 5th Street Crescent, as well as the need for enhanced snow removal around Westberry School. Klarenbach’s concerns highlighted the importance of traffic safety for local students and winter maintenance for safer commutes.
Financial Matters and Allocations
The Council reviewed and accepted the Town’s Financial Report for September 2024. They also approved the allocation of the Kindersley Community Initiatives Program (KCIP) grant, based on recommendations from the KCIP adjudication committee. This grant provides support to local programs and initiatives, fostering community growth and engagement.
Property Tax Arrears and Payments
Council accepted the current List of Lands with Arrears of Taxes as of October 2024, agreeing that properties owing less than half of the previous year’s tax levy would be omitted from further action.
Council also reviewed and approved the list of paid accounts, totalling $345,475.94, confirming financial accountability for recent municipal expenses.
