Q. Why are you running for mayor/council?

A. Being on council will allow me to be your voice and to take the many concerns fellow citizens have expressed.

Q. Do you have experience in public service/community boards/politics?

A. I have experience in public relations, working on community & rec boards, being on council, and working with a neighbouring RM.

Q. Do you think experience matters one way or another?

A.

No in my opinion, I think that if one has integrity and has the right intentions…… experience should not matter. One should ask themself, are you doing this for friends, for change, or personal gain.

In my case: I want Change!

Q. What topic/policy issue/incident was the tipping point for you?

A. Property Assessments, city Accessibility, City Administration & Council, Safety, were among some of the most important tipping points for me, but as I am speaking with citizens in the community there is a lot more work to do that has made me realize and given me more reason to push myself even harder for this election.

Q. What criticisms do you have, if any, for the politics you've seen over the last two or three years?

A. I have seen that there has been zero communication, transparency, or solutions. The citizens of Moose Jaw deserve better, why not give The city of Moose Jaw a chance and have a whole new perspective at bringing this city back, because we are at a crucial time, if we stay the way we are, I fear for this city. Out with the old and in with the new!

Q. What is your plan to compromise/cooperate with fellow council members to accomplish policy goals?

A. Communication is key, building relationships, having healthy debates and disagreements. Voicing opinions, being creative and coming up with solutions! This is what makes a well-oiled machine, and I know that having passionate proud citizens of this city we can get back to work and build this city to what it should be and that the citizens of Moose Jaw are proud of.

A candidates forum is taking place on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Centennial Auditorium at Peacock Collegiate. The forum will be livestreamed on Discover Moose Jaw.
