Q. Why are you running for mayor/council?

A. I’m running to ensure accountability and appropriate stewardship of the revenue entrusted to us by our citizens. My focus is on long-term infrastructure planning and exploring alternative revenue streams instead of raising taxes. Moose Jaw needs a forward-thinking approach that fosters sustainable growth and community-driven solutions. I’m passionate about creating a future where we invest wisely in the city’s needs, while also being transparent and responsive to the citizens we serve.

Q. Do you have experience in public service/community boards/politics?

A. Yes, I have served on governance boards and have experience in finance, accounting, IT, and running several businesses. Though I haven’t held a political office, my professional experience managing budgets, leading teams, and solving complex problems equips me to contribute meaningfully to council. I’ve been involved in various roles where decision-making and accountability were paramount, giving me the skills needed to represent Moose Jaw effectively and ensure responsible stewardship of city resources.

Q. Do you think experience matters one way or another?

A. Yes, experience matters, but so do fresh perspectives. Having a background in managing budgets and leading teams brings valuable skills to council, but new ideas and approaches are equally important to address evolving community needs. A balance of both experience and innovation ensures we can solve problems creatively while maintaining accountability. Informed decision-making, rooted in practical experience, is key to building a future that reflects the needs of the entire community.

Q. What topic/policy issue/incident was the tipping point for you?

A. The tipping point for me was seeing biased information about Souls Harbour and realizing the city’s lack of proactive planning for Moose Jaw’s future growth. I believe we need to collaborate more effectively with not-for-profit partners to address community challenges in a sustainable way. By fostering stronger partnerships and creating long-term plans for our city’s infrastructure and growth, we can ensure a better future for Moose Jaw that benefits everyone.

Q. What criticisms do you have, if any, for the politics you've seen over the last two or three years?

A. There has been a lack of transparency and insufficient accountability in recent years. Many decisions seem reactive rather than proactive, with little long-term vision guiding the process. Moreover, there hasn’t been enough effort to engage the community in meaningful ways, leaving citizens feeling disconnected from the decisions being made. I believe Moose Jaw deserves leadership that prioritizes open communication, accountability, and thoughtful planning for the city’s future growth.

Q. What is your plan to compromise/cooperate with fellow council members to accomplish policy goals?

A. My plan is to prioritize open communication, mutual respect, and active listening. I believe in finding common ground by focusing on shared goals and values, rather than individual differences. To move forward, I’ll work to build trust with fellow council members, encourage dialogue, and seek consensus on policies that will benefit the city. By fostering collaboration rather compromise, we can ensure that Moose Jaw’s interests are at the forefront of all decisions.

Q. What else do you want voters to know about you?

A. I’ve lived in Moose Jaw for 19 years, raised my family here, and have deep ties to the community as a business owner. I’m dedicated to ensuring long-term growth for our city by focusing on sustainability, responsible resource management, and community-driven solutions. My goal is to help Moose Jaw thrive, balancing the immediate needs of our citizens with the future potential of the city. I’m committed to listening and being transparent in all my actions.

Q. In the interests of transparency, are you coordinating or do you share an association with any other candidates, in any way whatsoever?

A. No, I am running independently and have no formal coordination or association with any other candidates. My campaign is rooted in my personal vision for Moose Jaw’s future and the belief that we can achieve growth and success through thoughtful planning and collaboration. I am fully committed to serving the community based on my principles and the needs of Moose Jaw, with no external influence from other candidates or groups.
