With Halloween right around the corner, there are a ton of events going on in Strathmore heading into the weekend.
Here's a list of six events happening in the area over the next few days:
Treat Accessibly is a way for everyone to enjoy trick or treating.
Certain homes in Strathmore, Chestermere, and Langdon will have tables set up at the end of driveways and offer other treats besides candy to provide an experience that's enjoyable for everyone on Halloween night.
Strathmore's home, which is located at 1041 Hillcrest Manor Estates, will also showcase a row of jack-o'-lanterns to check out.
Chestermere's accessible home is located at 519 East Chestermere Drive, and Langdon's is at 66 Brander Avenue.
Other homes can participate in the Treat Accessibly initiative by visiting the program's website.
2. King Eddy's Halloween Bash
Strathmore's King Eddy Pub will be hosting a Halloween Bash on Friday (Nov. 1).
The event will feature prizes for best costume and plenty of karaoke in an 18+ event.
3. Halloween Pawty at Alpine View Pet Spa
Alpine View Pet Spa is doing a costume contest for all dogs who attend daycare on Halloween.
There will be goody bags for all furry friends that arrive, with the winner of the contest being awarded a free daycare day, worth about $28.
There is limited availability, with the daycare asking that people book ahead of time.
4. Trunk or Treat in Strathmore
Hundreds of children will be dropping by the Strathmore Full Gospel Church for their annual trunk or treat event.
There will be about seven vehicles offering a safe, scare-free environment for small children to pick up candy.
The event is open for all to attend, offering hot chocolate and fireplaces to keep residents warm.
Trunk or Treat runs from on Halloween from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
5. Dr. Giggles House of Pain
Dr. Giggles House of Pain, a haunted house based out of Chestermere, will be running on Halloween and the following days.
Following their Halloween event, there will be two final tours on Friday and Saturday catered specifically for adults.
The event is 18+ and residents are asked to arrive in white clothing, with the promise that they will leave the tour soaked in red.
Tickets are on sale on the Hauntpay website. The event takes place behind the Chestermere Rec Centre.
This may be the final year of Dr. Giggles in Strathmore, as the family that runs the house is dealing with leasing issues.
6. The Sollows' Haunted House
Strathmore's Sollows family is still running their haunted house leading up to Halloween.
Donations are accepted for the Wheatland County Food Bank and the True North Society, with the tour featuring animatronics, plenty of fog, and even live actors.
The family has been running their elaborate haunted house for several years and has been open to the public on evenings since October 26.
The haunted house is open from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
