Those who live in Vulcan County are only allowed certain fires for the next while.
Since Wednesday, Oct. 30, Vulcan County has been under a fire restriction.
The County had lifted their previous restriction on October 3, but due to the dry, windy, and warm weather the County has been experiencing, along with the forecasted weather it's been reinstated.
There is currently a very high risk of fire spreading due to windy conditions in any area with dead and dry grass, which exists throughout the County.
Under this restriction, only campfires in campgrounds and on private property are allowed, whereas campfires, or any other open fires, and Charcoal briquettes are prohibited on provincial land or grazing lease land within the County.
Both gas and propane stoves and barbeques are still allowed.
Fire permits could be suspended or cancelled, and no new fire permits will be issued at this time.
Because Vulcan County could move to a full fire ban with almost no notice, it's best to see if there is a fire ban prior to lighting up.
The Town of Vulcan still is fire restriction free.
