The Moose Jaw Humane Society (MJHS) and Country 100's 12th annual Paws for Pledges Radiothon is just around the corner, set to begin November 8, from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. During the 12-hour event the MJHS is hoping to raise $95,000 in support of the shelter and animals in need within the city.
The team at the MJHS has been hard at work getting everything ready for the radiothon, and Executive Director of the MJHS, Dana Haukaas, hopes that some pets find their forever homes as a result.
“We are so excited about Paws for Pledges! We really hope that we can get some adoptions booked that day, so that the people who are coming to the shelter can see those happy endings. So, if you are thinking of adding a furry friend to your family, please head to our website.” said Haukaas.
“If you are wanting to make a donation to the radiothon, we would love to see you at the shelter on November 8.”
Haukaas noted that all methods of donation to the shelter will be accepted, be it cash, credit, debit or cheque. She invited everyone to visit, and highlighted some activities for the children who would like to attend.
“We're going to have some popcorn and iced tea, and a coloring table. So, we hope to see lots of people from the community come down. It's going to be a great time.”
If you can’t wait until the radiothon to support the shelter, Haukaas reminds everyone that the shelter’s online auction will be running on Facebook in the lead up to the Paws for Pledges Radiothon.
“We have some great auction items. Donna has done a great job again this year, though the bidding does close at noon, so make sure you check in on your bid.
If you haven't had a chance, go over to our Facebook page and check out the auction, there's lots of great items that you can pamper yourself with or get some items off your Christmas list,” explained Haukaas.
“We have a few items that are going to be left for next week, so people will be able to bid from Wednesday morning until Friday at noon. Our hope is that you come into the shelter on the day of the radiothon to pick up your auction prize!”
