Gordon Carl Walter of Pioneer Lodge Moose Jaw was called home to his Lord and Savior on Oct. 27, 2024 at the age of 99.

Gordon was born on Oct. 17, 1925 on the family farm southwest of Ormiston, Sask. to his parents John and Christina Walter. He was a brother to Mary, Johnny, Louie, Nora, Adam and Irene.

On Dec. 15, 1950 he married the love of his life Doreen Schoffer and they started their life together living on the family farm.  In the early 1950's Gordon started working at Ormiston Mining and Smelting so they moved to Ormiston where they lived and raised their family.  At the Age of 65 Gordon retired from the mine and in the Fall of 1993 Gordon and Doreen moved to Moose Jaw where they spent many more happy years together until Doreen had to go into a care facility in January of 2020.  Gordon lived by himself until Feb. 12, 2021 when he moved to live with Ron and Elayne on the farm. During this time period he would frequently stay with Colleen and Doug too.  Due to his deteriorating health he moved to Pioneer Lodge Care Facility on May 24, 2023 where he lived until his passing.

Gordon had a love for life.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a bit of a teaser sometimes.  In his younger days he enjoyed curling and playing ball which led to his love of watching curling and baseball on TV.  Fishing was another activity that he enjoyed and he was pretty good at it too.

Gordon was a very hardworking man.  He made the best of every situation that he faced and he gave it his all. He was always willing to learn new things.

Gordon had an unwavering Faith in his Heavenly Father and had an abundance of unconditional love for his family.

He was definitely one of the "Good Guys".

He leaves to cherish all the wonderful memories of him, his Daughters - Elayne (Ron) Luke and Colleen (Doug) Pollard;
Grandsons - Mike Luke and Tim (Vanessa) Luke; his Great Grandchildren - Brenna (Kyle) Luke and Shane Luke.

Following Gordon's wishes there will not be a funeral
