Patients who have appointments for cancer treatments at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre are being asked to visit the new Arthur J.E Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre or Calgary Cancer Centre instead.

According to a news release from Alberta Health Services, the new $1.4 billion facility opened to ambulatory patients on October 28 and inpatient appointments are being transferred on November 2.

“We are very excited to welcome patients to this new building and are standing by to help you find your way,” says Caroline Hatcher, Executive Director, Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre. “We are doing our best to remind patients that the location of their appointment has changed but we are finding patients are still arriving at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre/Holy Cross Centre. We want to ensure you are arriving at the right building in time for your appointment.”

AHS says last month patients with appointments to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre were sent a letter with the new location of their appointment in the new building.

"Patients are reminded to read the letter and visit the new centre for treatment. Volunteers are standing by inside the new centre to help patients get where they need to go," wrote AHS.
