Annie Marie Matalski (Kaminski) (née Kushnier)

It is with great sadness that the family of Annie Marie Matalski (née Kushnier) announces her passing on October 31, 2024. She was 95 years of age. Annie was born to Fred and Marie (née Fiel) Kushnier on September 9, 1929, in the Carmel District, Saskatchewan. She married Stanley Kaminski and together they farmed, in the same area, until his passing in 1971. Annie then moved to Humboldt, where she worked as a seamstress. She married Sylvester Matalski on July 21, 1989, and together they enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. Annie also enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, gardening and entertaining friends and family. Annie is survived by her daughter, Delphine; granddaughter Candace, sister-in-law Agnes; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her second husband, Sylvester; first husband, Stanley Kaminski; brothers Michael and John Kushnier; sister Sally Indzeoski; and son-in-law Arlen Mason. The funeral mass was offered at St Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, SK, on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., Celebrated by Fr. Colin Roy. Others taking part were: Lyle Mason, crossbearer; Brenda Pastor and Brad Gaetz, scripture readers; Deb Leisle, intentions; Fran & Jane Dagelis, giftbearers; and Marcia Indzeoski; and Glenda Ernst, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by Members of the St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir, directed by Loretta Schugmann. Active pallbearers were Andy Peesker, Donald Kaminski, Janine Peesker, Wendy Gerspacher, Terry Indzeoski, Murray Meszaros. Interment was at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery, Humboldt, SK, followed by a memorial luncheon at St. Augustine Parish Hall, Humboldt, SK.
