With winter approaching quickly, the Town of Diamond Valley is looking for some angels.

This is the second year the Snow Angels program is happening, which will help those in Diamond Valley who need help with clearing their snow.

Through this program, community members are able to assist one another, as well as ensuring sidewalks remain cleared, safe, and accessible throughout the winter.

On top of shoveling show being potentially strenuous and hazardous for those with mobility or health conditions, the frequent freeze-thaw cycles the region experiences makes snowy pathways dangerously slippery.

But, through the Snow Angels program, it will connect those who need help clearing snow with those who wish to help out.

It will also help to reduce the number of accidents, help people in the community avoid isolation by giving people a clear walkway, as well as help people to avoid receiving fines for uncleared pathways.

In order to be part of the program, those who require assistance are encouraged to register for the program.

Once registered, those who need some assistance clearing their snow will receive a Snow Angels sign, which can be displayed on the yard or in a window.

That sign will let others in the community know that this residence needs some extra assistance clearing their snow.

For everyone else in the community, if a home has this sign displayed, and the snow isn't cleared, feel free to lend a helping hand.
