The 12th annual Paws for Pledges Radiothon is hitting the airwaves tomorrow on Country 100 in support of the Moose Jaw Humane Society.

The radiothon will be on the air from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. live from the Moose Jaw Humane Society shelter. This year’s goal is to raise $95,000, with the funds going towards the day-to-day operations of the shelter, emergencies, vet bills, and much more.

With Friday being a day off school for children, there will be a number of activities happening at the shelter during the radiothon for those who want to stop by.

“We’re hoping that they will be able to come down. We’re going to have some popcorn and iced tea, a colouring table, so we hope to see lots of people from the community come down,” said Moose Jaw Humane Society executive director Dana Haukaas.

While the radiothon is going on, the Moose Jaw Humane Society will continue to have their Facebook auction, where people can bid on a number of great prizes.

“So, people will be able to bid from Wednesday morning until Friday at noon and our hope is that you come into the shelter on the day of the radiothon to pick up your auction prize,” Haukaas said.

Last year, the Paws for Pledges Radiothon reached a major milestone. The radiothon has raised over $1 million for the humane society over the past 11 years.

Donations for this year’s radiothon can be made by stopping by in person at the shelter, going online to www.mjhs.ca, or calling 306-972-PETS (7387). Donations will be accepted via credit card and debit card at the shelter, as well as cash and cheque.
