Jack Body
November 20, 1935 – October 28, 2024

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jack Body on October 28, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on November 20, 1935, in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan, Jack was the fourth child of Art and Beryl Body.  Jack initially attended Englewood school until grade 9, after which, he completed high school in Luseland.  Jack led a life filled with action, adventure, and an ever-present smile.

Jack was a humble man with a strong work ethic.  He met the love of his life, Carol Topley in 1974, and they wed in 1975. They resided on the Body farm west of Luseland across from the Englewood school until 2019, when they moved to Primrose Chateau in Saskatoon.  Jack eventually returned to Kerrobert, living in the long-term care facility from November 2023 until his passing.

Jack was a man of many talents and passions. He was an avid dancer, able pianist, skilled aviator, world traveller, enthusiastic welder, and inventor. His love for antique cars and all kinds of machinery made him the family’s go-to mechanic. His inventiveness and ingenuity were always evident in his work as a cattleman and farmer. His passion for agriculture was only exceeded by his deep love of life and family. Jack welcomed friends warmly, always inviting them in for coffee, a good chat, and game of cards whenever they stopped by the farm. He cherished these moments, sharing jokes and laughter. Jack and Carol were particularly fond of their many winters as snowbirds in Mesa, Arizona.  Jack adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jack is survived by his wife, Carol; children Cindy (Darren) Chotowetz, Rick (Julie) Body, and Dawn (Travis) Kennedy; grandchildren Chad Chotowetz (Lisa), Jenna (Paul) Miller, Todd (Catherine) Chotowetz, Chelsea, Aaron, and Mitchell Body, and Dylan and Nicole Kennedy (Joseph); great grandchildren Paris, Weston, Gunner, Jack, and Cash; sisters Jean and Joyce Gottfried and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack was predeceased by his parents Art and Beryl Body, brother Tom Body, great grandchild Michael Chotowetz and brothers in law Alex and John Gottfried.

A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on November 9 at 2 pm at the Luseland Homecoming Hall, where family and friends will gather to honour his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kerrobert & District Health Centre: Long-Term Care, in remembrance of Jack.
