The weather is still quite warm this weekend, and there is lots to do in Okotoks this weekend.

This is what's happening in Okotoks this weekend:

Friday, November 8

The Dewdney Players Group Theatre will be performing their play "Noises Off" at the Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton's Evan Hazell Theatre. Curtain call is 7:30 p.m.

From 2 to 6 p.m., the Okotoks Market Square Christmas Market will be happening at both the Viking Rentals Centre and the D'Arcy Ranch Golf Club.

As always, it's Youth Night at the Okotoks Rec Centre, where youth aged between 12 and 18 have free access to the Youth Centre, the ORC Gymnasium, and the pools from 6 to 10 p.m.

The Carstar Okotoks Bisons play at the Murray Arena, with puck drop happening at 8 p.m.

There is also going to be Nerf Wars at the Okotoks Public Library from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday, November 9

The Okotoks Museum will have a Remembrance Day exhibit for people to check out from noon to 5 p.m.

The Dewdney Players Group Theatre will be performing "Noises Off" twice at the Seton YMCA, with the first play beginning at 2 p.m., and the second play beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The Okotoks Market Square Christmas Market will be back at both the Viking Rentals Centre and D'Arcy Ranch Golf Club, but the market will happen from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. instead.

There is a kitty adoption event at the Pet Valu in D'Arcy from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It's Red Rock Pizza's four-year anniversary, and they are having a party from 2 to 6 p.m., and everyone is invited.

The Okotoks Art Gallery is hosting a painting landscapes art class from noon to 4 p.m.

The Sheep River Parkrun is happening again, and is a free 5k community event where people can walk, jog, run, or volunteer in the Sheep River Park.

The Okotoks Oilers play at the Viking Rentals Centre, with the puck dropping at 6:05 p.m.

Sunday, November 10

The Okotoks Market Square Christmas Market will be at the Viking Rentals Centre and D'Arcy Ranch Golf Club, and just like on Saturday, the market will happen from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The kitty adoption event will be happening again at Pet Valu, but it will be at their Southbank from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There is also a Toonie Swim at the Okotoks Rec Centre from 12:30 to 2 p.m., and there is leisure skating all day at the the peanut rink at the Viking Rentals Centre.

Monday, November 11

There is a Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Viking Rentals Centre, which will be hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion and the Town of Okotoks. Doors open at 9 a.m., and the service begins at 10:20 a.m.

There will also be a Remembrance Day Service at the Okotoks Cenotaph at 10:20 a.m.

With that, Okotoks Town Councilor Rachel Swendseid highlighted several activities that are happening this weekend.

"Obviously I'm going to start out with the Remembrance Day ceremonies. It is Remembrance Day on Monday. So, the Town of Okotoks is holding a Remembrance Day Ceremony in conjunction with the Legion. There is also a Remembrance Day Service at the Okotoks Cenotaph."

Councilor Swendseid also wanted to highlight the Okotoks Market Square Christmas Market.

"Now, this is a community favourite. It actually runs for two weekends, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. And it's in two locations this year, because it is so busy."

The third event this weekend that she wishes to highlight is the Nerf Wars at the Library.

"One of my favourite things that the library does is they host super fun events that are not necessary book related, but bring the community together and have fun. One of the things they do is they have Nerf Wars at the library. These are after hours events that kids from the ages 8 to 12 can go in the library after hours and they get to have a Nerf war between the shelving of books. How cool is that?"

Finally, Councilor Swendseid wanted to give a shout out to Red Rock Pizza.

"Sounds like they have a lot of fun stuff going on for the afternoon, so stop by there and support a local business and congratulate them on four-years operating in Okotoks."

"Have a wonderful weekend everybody!" Council Swendseid added.
