If you're looking to help out a family in need this Christmas, the Salvation Army's 5th annual toy drive is coming up.

New officers, Renee and Bill Mailman with the High River Salvation Army are really excited about helping out our community.

"Yes, absolutely! We are partnering with the radio stations and it's going to be November 30th from 10 till 2 at Canadian Tire in High River again."

The Mailmans moved here from Swift Current, SK earlier this year and their second posting since becoming officers with the Salvation Army after getting their training in Winnipeg.

Look for another special appearance from Santa during the event and apparently, the big guy will be joined by some elves this year.

Canadian Tire will also have a number of items ready to purchase to help our families in need.

Some of the items to think about for the hard-to-buy-for tweens and teens include hoodies, blue tooth items, headphones, earbuds and hygiene kits.

Something new this year is a 'Giving Christmas Tree' complete with tags of the names of boys and girls along with their wish lists. You can then just pluck one off the tree and go shopping at Canadian Tire.

And if you are a family that could use some help this year, you're asked to call the Salvation Army at 403-603-8099 to register.

99.7 Sun Country's Charlie Brown from the Morning Show will also be on hand throughout the toy drive on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
