Those in the Municipal District of Willow Creek had only a slight reprieve from fire restrictions.
The M.D. of Willow Creek lifted their fire restriction on October 21, but they re-implemented the fire restriction recently.
As of Wednesday, Nov. 13, the district is now under a fire restriction.
While the temperatures have dropped, there has been a lack of precipitation combined with windy conditions, and the risk of fire has heightened once again.
There is also a good amount of dry fuel present, which could help a wildfire to spread quickly.
Under this restriction, all fire permits have been suspended, and no new ones will be issued until there has received a significant amount of moisture.
Burn barrels, incinerators, and backyard fire pits are allowed, as long as they meet the bylaw requirements, but the M.D. is reminding people to use extreme caution while they are burning.
It's also advised to revisit any old burn sites to double-check for any hotspots.
If the old burn site has smoke or is still warm, it's advised to stir up the ashes, douse it with water, and check again.
The Towns of Nanton, Claresholm, and Fort Macleod are unaffected by the restriction.
Prior to lighting a fire, it's advised to check on the status of fire bans, which can be found here.
