Heartland Hospice’s mission to bring expanded hospice care to Moose Jaw continues with a fundraising event announced to help further their goal.

On Monday, November 25th the organization’s first ever Fish and Chips Night with Trivia fundraiser will be held at Bobby’s Place.

Heartland Hospice’s Chair of the Fundraising Committee, Michaela Sykora, tells us the funds raised are going towards.

“All the funds raised from our fundraising committee are going to the ongoing construction of a dedicated hospice space in Moose Jaw that we’re constructing at Pioneer Lodge. So, they're building three dedicated hospice palliative bedrooms, a family room and a sacred space, as well as a serenity garden, and there will be a private entrance for the hospice patients as well as their family.”

She shares some details about what they have planned for the evening, including some hints at the prizes for trivia winners.

“There are some prizes available from Casino Moose Jaw and Regina as well as Rosies on River Street, we may have a few more donors helping us out with surprises as well. I do believe that Sparkle and Pop are also donating a balloon bouquet to the winners.”

She was only able to give a few examples, opting to keep it a surprise for attendees who win the other prizes. She does note, however, that every attendee who purchases a ticket will receive a $10 voucher for Casino’s Moose Jaw and Regina.

“We have 100 tickets available online. We do have a few sold already, but we're hoping that Moose Jaw comes and helps us out to sell the rest of them.”

Tickets can be pre-purchased online via e-transfer for $30 apiece, with the e-transfers sent to trivia@hhmj.ca. Sykora noted that a name, phone number, and email address should be included.
