The U18 AAA Weyburn Gold Wings leapt up the SFU18AAAHL standings Wednesday night, into a tie with Saskatoon for 3rd place, after picking up a win over the Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox. The Gold Wings would score four goals in the third period en route to a 4-1 victory.  

In net, Tila Boyd earned her second win of the season, and improved her goals-against average to a league-best 0.97, as she turned aside 32 of the 33 shots she faced. She also currently has the best save percentage in the league at .975.  

There would be no scoring in the game until the early stages of the third period when Madelyn Sittler scored at the 1:11 mark. It was her first of the season, and the goal was unassisted. Ayla Klus would then make it 2-0 just over a minute later, at 2:16 of the third, with her first of the year. Her goal was asissted by Nola Exner and Kadence Dansereau.  

A power play goal from Kamryn Kish, her second goal of the campaign, would come at the 7:29 mark. The assists on the goal came from Maicy Groenewegen and Sittler.  

The Hounds would reply with 19 seconds left on the clock when Maisie Kozak spoiled Boyd's shutout bid. The Gold Wings, though, weren’t done.  

With just five seconds remaining in the game, Hallie Parada notched her third goal of the season to make it 4-1.  

The Gold Wings, who now have a record of two regulation wins, two overtime wins, three regulation losses and one overtime loss, will be playing a pair of exhibition games this weekend. They will be entertaining Dakota College for two games at Crescent Point Place. The game on Saturday starts at 3:45 p.m., and the game on Sunday will start at 2 p.m.
