Almost a week after suffering a brain aneurysm during a training session, the Winnipeg Sea Bears are updating fans on Chad Posthumus' condition.
According to the team, the 33-year-old centre underwent a long and complex surgery that successfully repaired a large brain aneurysm. However, there were complications and he is now in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

"The Posthmus family, along with Chad's partner Meagan, are very grateful for the outpouring of support and continued prayers for Chad," said the Winnipeg Sea Bears in a social media post.
Posthumus, who played for the River East Kodiaks in high school, was the first player on the Sea Bears team. He was also the first captain of the Winnipeg team when they were founded in 2022.
