The Okotoks Dawgs have announced another trio of players returning to Seaman Stadium for the 2025 season.
Okotoks True Grit award winner Logan Grant will be back in Dawgs uniform for a third season. Grant was a force last season during his 41 games played. He accumulated 39 runs on 49 hits, 12 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 32 RBIs, 18 walks, and 15 stolen bases.
While this will be the Chestermere product's third season with the Dawgs, it also marks his fifth season in the WCBL as he played with the Sylvan Lake Gulls and the Swift Current 57's the two previous seasons before joining Okotoks.
Grant is currently playing for Bellevue University in the NAIA. Grant was one of 10 Dawgs that played in the 2024 WCBL All-Star game.
Jacob Wrubleski will also return as he played in 16 games last season and is currently playing Division 1 NCAA baseball with Gonzaga University.
Wrubleski had 17 hits, 18 runs, four doubles, three home runs, nine RBIs, and eight walks last season. Wrubleski was also a member of the Dawgs Academy and went to HTA for high school.
Additionally, pitcher Ryan McFarland will be returning for his fifth season with the Dawgs and the WCBL.
McFarland who won the WCBL Championship three years in a row, brings a ton of experience and knows how to win.
He went 3-1 during last season on the mound with 29 innings pitched, only gave up three walks, and punched out 29 batters with strikeouts. McFarland is currently playing baseball with Campbellsville University in the NAIA.
The Dawgs will be back on the field on May 28, 2025, when they visit the Medicine Hat Mavericks for the first games of the season.
