The HTA Knights took home the Southern Alberta Championship and will now head to the Provincial Finals after defeating the George McDougall Mustangs 57-23 on Saturday afternoon.

Malik Robbins opened the scoring in the game after returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown.

Ben Haden would force a fumble shortly after which was picked up by Jack Bjorge who got them in scoring position. Ryan Chirzynski would kick the field goal to get the Knights up 10-0 early.

Reigning MVP from the Canada Cup Seth Poelzer did what he does best in finding the endzone for back-to-back touchdowns. Ben Gutek added a touchdown of his own after returning a kick and put up another seven points for the Knights.

Quarterback Declan Lyth found Cayden McCullough later in the game scoring the longest receiving touchdown in the game. Ben Haden got the final touchdown for the Knights with a run and HTA went into the half leading 57-14.

The JV squad would take over for the second half and only allowed nine points and HTA would hold on with a final score of 57-23.

The Knights will now head to Grand Prairie to face the St. Joesph Catholic High School Celtics this Saturday for the provincial final.
