The Moose Jaw Community Players will be holding auditions next week for their February show.
Crystal Milburn, vice president of the Moose Jaw Community Players’ board, said the February performances will consist of several one act plays.
“We’re calling it ‘A Theatre Valentine’. We have three stories about love and relationships to share with our audience for Valentine’s Day.”
Auditions will be held Nov. 26 and Nov. 28 in the Rehearsal Hall in the basement at the Moose Jaw Centre for Arts & Culture from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
She said they’re looking for people between the ages of 18 to 60-something to fill the roles for the three different shows. “We need all kinds of folks to come out and see us. We’re not asking for anything terribly difficult or challenging.”
“We're going to provide pages of the script to be read. We’ll ask you to read with us, with some other people, and just have a good time.”
Milburn said that people who haven’t acted before are welcome to come. “One acts are short plays and are an easy one to cut your teeth on if you just want to try this out and you’re not sure that it’s for you.”
For those interested in helping to put on the plays, but who don’t want to be on centre stage, Milburn said they'd like to hear from them, too. “There are so many things that go on behind the scenes to make our shows come alive, that if you’re just interested in getting involved with a fun group of people, we can definitely find a use for your talents.”
The show will run Feb. 14 and Feb. 15, 2025.
